Kusanagi flame, Yagami tears - KOF96

Kyo and Iori match up against each other, both of them exchange their
trademarked attacks, back and forth, trading hits, then both of them
perform their respective 'Kototsuki' moves at each other at the same
time. Kyo wins the clash and sends Iori back, before yelling, 
'Kore ga ore no, Kusanagi no shin-ken da!' (This is the true fist of the Kusanagi). Everything detonates in a blaze of light and flame...

After the blackness - KOF97

Iori awakes in bed, panting with the room spinning around him, the
images of the fight, the burning crimson flames and the whiteness
slowly fading from his mind's eye. He coughs and retches violently,
almost standard after yet another restless night. The same nightmare.
'Hmmhmhmhm...hehehehe...Kyo, if only you knew, what you have done to 
my life, even before all this began...Your name, your face, your appearance, everything about you...this world would be perfect without your existance, Kyo...My only wish...is to ki...*coughcough*..kill you with my own hands!...Just you wait, Kyo...Hnnhnhnhnhh, hmhmhmhmhh....hahahahahaha!!!'

Final round, will it appear?, Kusanagi's Final God Fist! - KOF99

'Kusanagi Kyo...why? why did that have to be you? What the heck is
going on here? Who is...' K' ponders, and a voice sounds in his head,
"just so you know, I am.." K' hisses through his teeth 'Kusanagiiii!!'
At that, a faraway scream is heard, and K' bolts up to investigate.
"It can't be..." 
A blast of crimson flame sends Athena flying. The familiar sillhouette 
of Kyo-1 stands a distance away, pausing before screaming 'BURN!' and throwing another wave of flame at her. However, the second wave is 
intercepted by K'.
"Who the hell are you?" Kyo-1 sneers. "Stop this! Please!" Athena cries.
"You bastard..." K' snaps back. "Oho? This is good, so you've come to 
meet your end too?"
"Yeah right..."
Shingo runs in, surprised, "Isn't that Kyo?!?" Benimaru asks, following behind.
"Wha...Stop this please, Kusanagi-san!" Shingo calls to his mentor.
"Heh, and here comes the cavalry...Bah, no matter, come on!"
"Come on, stop this, Kusanagi-san, you're acting weird!" Shingo snaps.
"Shut up! Take this!!"
"Gah...Why...Why is it like this?! Please! Stop this! Kusanagi-san! I won't fight you!"
"Then die! Huuuuuuuuuuuuuu....KURAI YAGAREEEEEEE!!!"
"AAAAAAAAAAARGH!!"
Shingo cringes from the blast, bracing for impact, just as K' jumps in
and counters by Kyo-1's initial blast still breaks through, sending K' sprawling.
"What's wrong? is your flame that weak?" Kyo-1 sneers. "It's only the fourth round, KURAYA!!!" another blast of flame assaults K', but he manages to counter it, and the two assault each other. Athena, Benimaru and Mai quickly confer on the sidelines, realising that even K' isn't a match for Kyo, but it isn't normal by a long shot, something
is definetly wrong, just as another massive flamewave assaults K'.
Kyo-1 then backs K' up against a wall and literally starts beating the utter crap out of him. Just before the final blow however, a guttural
yell is heard from the side and a blast of violet flame separates the two.
"Who the hell?!?" Kyo-1 looks around, surprised.
"Kyo, I never expected we would fight here." Iori steps forward.
"Who the hell are you?"
"Hmph! What's this?"
"Anyway it doesn't matter, you seem a little strong...Come on, let's go." Kyo-1 assumes stance again, but Iori simply stares.
"Kyo...hn...hehe...haha...HAHAHAHAHA!"
"What?! What the hell's so funny?!?"
"Shut up! YOU IMPOSTOR!"
"Tch! What the hell are you on about?!?"
"There's no way you could change so much as to not know me, surely of all the (appearances), Kyo would recognise me. Therefore it doesn't matter if you look like him, you're something else, I know this for sure. Do you even remember my power (referring to the flame)?" Iori explains rather evenly, smirking the whole time.
"Cut the bullshit out!" the clone, Kyo-1 screams.
"Burn up!(?) You aren't the same as the original!"
"Shutup! Shutup!! SHUTUP!! I am Kusanagi Kyo!! I am SUPERIOR to the original!" Kyo-1 screams, enraged.
"Hah! Don't waste your time talking! You are an impostor!" Iori snaps back.
"SHUT UP!!! EAT THIS!!" Kyo-1 throws a massive flamewave at Iori, but it's countered with almost shocking ease. "What the?...no way!"
"Hmph! truly pathetic!...KOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUU!!" Iori sends back an even bigger flamewave that completely engulfs Kyo-1. He screams horribly, dying as the infernal flame guts his body.
"Hnhnhnhnh...heheheheheh....HAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!"
As Iori laughs, another blast of crimson flame slams into Kyo-1, incinerating it completely. Iori turns to look at the newcomer as footsteps echo.

Yuuhi to Tsuki: Two men faced their destinies at the end of the millennium - Shin-Kyo vs Iori one final time...

Kyo steps into the light and eyes the burning corpse, before looking at Iori.
"Kyo! So that was you..." Iori spits. *Read note at end*
"Heh, sorry, my mistake *smirk*, and I'd only just come in too, geez."
Both of them trashtalk each other back and forth for a bit, arguing on the purpose of them being in the KOF again, and the whole morality issue, though, gone is the abject hatred of times past, what remains is only the desire to fight the other. "Ikuze!"
"Take this! This blow!!!" Kyo steps forward, but Iori jumps him first, catching him in the Ya Otome.
"Nake! Sakebe! Soshite SHI-NEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" 
"Hmph! So it's as i thought, you've gotten weak, Kyo...I should be disappointed." Iori mutters, glaring at Kyo as he tries to stand after taking the Ya Otome full force.
"*gasp* No...no way...this battle hasn't even begun to heat up!"
"Kyo! stop this now!" Daimon screams as Kyo stands up.
"Yeah...it's not...over...COME ON! YAGAMI!!"
"KYO! NOOOO!" Daimon and Benimaru scream, but it's too late, as Kyo dashes forward.
"Kurai yagare!! URA HYAKU HACHI SHIKI: OROCHINAGI DAAAAA!!"
"How's that...Yagami?!?...what the?!?" Kyo blinks at the little effect the Orochinagi had on Iori.
"Hmph! All that talk...you're not fighting like the Kyo I know..."
"What...no way!" Daimon blinks in shock.
"That....should have killed him!" Benimaru adds, unable to believe it.
"Show me your true strength, Kyo...the Orochinagi is weak as a final attack...It's only words shall be your death."
"...hmhmhmhmh...hehehe....HAHAHAHAHAHA!!...Farewell, Kusanagi Kyo!" Iori screams, and unleashes a MASSIVE flamewave at Kyo.
"Kyooooooo!!" Daimon and Benimaru shout. Kyo yells as the flamewave approaches, then at the very last moment, unleashes a blast of his own, powerful enough to counter Iori's attack. Both powers collide and an explosion paints the world white temporarily.
"What...is this?" Iori gasps, Kyo shielding his eyes. "This flame...so bright, such power...could this be..."
"Kyo ..." Daimon surprisingly said.
"It can't be" Iori wondering.
Kyo slowly speaks with brand new feeling from his body "so hot...this feeling...burning...burning...ooooohhhhh!"
"It can't be! This is Kyo's..." Iori gasps.
"UWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! BURRRRN!!" Kyo screams, dashing out of the flames, completely engulfed in crimson, eyes glowing white.
"This is the Kusanagi's true power!" Iori screams, an expression of mad glee on his face.
"UWAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! EAT THIIIIS! YAGAMIIIIIIIII!!!"

There is another massive detonation...and after a moment, Iori falls out of the blast, landing on one knee.
"Kyo! This is...This is it!" Iori gasps
"What the hell?" 
"The Kusanagi's true power....surely that was what i just saw!...No way i could fail to recognise that, but...that power, is greater than what i used to try and kill you (rough trans)...That is my greatest joy...!"
"Cut the crap out!" Kyo spits.
"That power...just now, your soul sang with the true desire to kill...the murderer's instinct it certainly would have killed me...if you had wanted to (very rough)...so, to this end...farewell! the king of fighters!"
"Wait! Yagamiiiii!" Kyo screams as the arena collapses after the retreating Iori.

"I will wait for you...Kyo."

Author's Notes

The dialog before the Kyo/Iori fight was cobbled together with bits and pieces ripped from 'The King of Fighters: Kyo'. This dialogue was simply intended to have Kyo and Iori 'argue' before the fight. If fully translated, it would sound rather weird so i left it as is. If anyone wishes to translate their lines, feel free to.

This translation is by no means 100% correct. I'm not a native Japanese speaker and my comprehension ability is no where near an acceptable fluency level.
